What if the savings never show up?

Well, there’s a first time for everything. If it ever happens, there’ll be no bill.

How much of our team's time does this take?

Our free Light review takes around 15 minutes to run and another 15 minutes to read the report. Our Essential engagement will require a few hours from your engineer to implement the recommended changes. Our Pro engagement involves an initial setup, then one or two appointments a month. Our Premium engagement is dictated by your tailored retainer allowance.

Do I need to develop my own savings patterns?

No. samcloud comes with a library of around sixty savings patterns, each one tested and ready to use. They cover commitment strategy, right-sizing and modernisation, licence entitlements, and waste and structure. We group the savings into quick wins, reasonable effort and longer engagement, and explain every change before it is made.

What is the samcloud platform built on?

samcloud is built in two layers. The foundation uses established Microsoft and open-source technology: Microsoft Fabric for data, the Microsoft FinOps toolkit, and the FOCUS standard for cost and usage data. On top of that sits a layer we built ourselves: FinOps Navigator, our role-based dashboards, around sixty proven optimisation patterns, the SAM 365 dashboards for Microsoft 365, and Localizer, our local data collector. Because it all runs on open standards, your data stays yours.

Do you resell Microsoft licences?

No. We hold no reseller agreement, no vendor rebate and no partner quota. After all, a partner whose margin grows with your consumption is never going to want to optimise it.

Can we pay from an existing Azure commitment?

The tool hosting runs inside your own Azure subscription and draws down against your Microsoft Azure consumption commitment. Our service fees are separate from this.

What happens to your data when the engagement ends?

It all depends on which engagement you had. Following a Light review we hand over the report and delete any data. If you sent us an export, there’s nothing to revoke. If you granted read-only access, we remove it on our side and you can withdraw consent yourself too. After an Essential engagement we do the same, but keep the report because we require it for invoicing. Our Pro and Premium engagements ensure your data never leaves your tenant. The analysis environment we built stays with you – only our access ends.

Can we start on one subscription and widen the scope later?

Our engagements cover your whole Azure tenant. Optimising one subscription in isolation gives a misleading baseline, and the savings on the rest of the estate are the ones that matter.
